Syahril Nizam Bin Abu Hasan is the Group Chief Risk & Compliance Officer of Lembaga Tabung Haji, bringing over three decades of experience in risk management, governance, compliance and financial services. Throughout his career, he has held senior leadership roles across some of Malaysia’s leading financial institutions, including Tabung Haji, Manulife Insurance Berhad, Maybank Berhad, Bursa Malaysia, RHB Bank Berhad, and United Overseas Bank (Malaysia).

A respected industry practitioner, Syahril possesses extensive expertise in enterprise risk management, financial risk, operational risk, regulatory compliance, AML/CFT, business continuity and governance transformation. He has played a pivotal role in strengthening risk and compliance frameworks, enhancing organisational resilience and fostering strong governance cultures across the institutions he has served. Syahril holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), is a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and is certified in Quantitative Risk Management. His insights continue to contribute significantly to the advancement of risk management practices within Malaysia’s financial sector.
