Khushwant Singh is a seasoned Risk Management professional with over 28 years of global financial industry experience spanning Southeast Asia and the Middle East. He has demonstrated expertise in establishing and managing risk functions across financial and non-financial sectors in both start-ups and large-scale enterprises. He is also a sought-after speaker at regional conferences, regularly sharing insights on risk management, governance and operational resilience. As the Group Chief Risk & Credit Officer at NTT DATA Payment Services, Khushwant leads the strategy, implementation and governance of Risk and Credit frameworks, as well as organisational processes, across multiple geographies in the region. His previous experience includes serving as the Head of Group Risk at Capital A (formerly known as AirAsia Group), where he oversaw the Group’s comprehensive Risk Management framework and its successful implementation. He also served in various roles within Group Operational Risk at Maybank, including Head of Operational Risk, Group Global Banking, where he played a central role in the

ownership and enhancement of the Operational Risk Management framework, standards, policies and methodologies. He was a key member of the team that won the 2013 Operational Risk Infrastructure Risk Management Award presented by the Asian Bankers Association to Maybank. He was also the first Secretary of the Maybank Group Operational Risk Management Committee. In addition, he was selected by Maybank’s Senior Management to participate in the Transitioning Leaders to CEOs (TLC) Programme by INSEAD Singapore. Khushwant’s experience also extends to the Middle East, where he served as a Senior Risk Specialist at Al-Khalij Commercial Bank and later as Operational Risk and Fraud Manager at Abu Dhabi Finance. He began his career at Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia, where he spent a decade in the Country Risk function within the Consumer Banking Risk Management portfolio.

Khushwant holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Southern Queensland, Australia, where he received the Dean’s Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement. He is also a Certified Bank Risk Management professional accredited by the Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers. For his contributions to the financial industry, Khushwant was appointed as a Moderator on the Financial Accreditation Agency (FAA) Moderation Committee for the discipline of Risk Management and is a Fellow of the FAA Accreditation Panel. FAA is an international and independent quality assurance and accreditation body supported by Bank Negara Malaysia and the Securities Commission Malaysia. He has delivered presentations on Risk Management to regulators (including MCMC), financial institutions and government agencies. He is a regular speaker at conferences and seminars, including the Malaysian Banking Summit, Asian Bankers Association, IERP Global Conferences, Emerging Threats in Operational Risk, and Practical Guide to Excellence in ORM in Singapore. He was also a Keynote Speaker at the Global GRC Revolution 2025 organised by Corporate World Intelligence.
