Sharath Martin
Sharath Martin is a senior advisor at the intersection of sustainability, finance, and governance, with deep engagement across ASEAN and global platforms on climate, nature, and social risk agendas. He is currently a Senior Policy & Insights Consultant for Asia Pacific at ACCA, where he
leads thought leadership and stakeholder engagement on sustainability, technology, and the future of finance. His work has influenced policymakers, regulators, and business leaders across the region, including leading a flagship ASEAN initiative on sustainability reporting aligned with Malaysia’s 2025 Chairmanship. Sharath serves as a Trustee of WWF-Malaysia, where he chairs the Fundraising Committee and sits on the Audit Committee, supporting governance, financial oversight, and the scaling of conservation impact.
He is also a Trustee of Shift Project Ltd (New York), a global leader on the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, and a member of its Finance Committee. Previously, Sharath held senior leadership roles including Head of Strategy and Risk at the Securities Commission Malaysia and Director of Risk Management (Asia Pacific) at Ernst & Young. His career has been defined by strengthening governance, managing systemic and enterprise risks, and integrating sustainability into strategy and decision-making. He is a Fellow of ACCA and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Strategy (Distinction) from the University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School.
