
Ir. Wan Murdani Wan Mohamad
Wan Murdani has over 25 years of experience in corporate and economic development, starting his career at Renong UEM Group before joining Time dotCom Berhad, one of Malaysia’s first digital fibre optic telecommunications providers. At Time dotCom, he was involved in network engineering, business development, international partnerships, and project management, contributing to key national projects including KLIA, PUTRA LRT, and the Malaysia-Singapore Second Link.
He later joined Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), where he currently serves as Vice President of the Digital Industry Acceleration Division, overseeing digital talent, entrepreneurship, funding, infrastructure, technology, and regulatory support to drive digital economy growth. He was elected by Asia Pacific Telecommunity member countries to chair a Study Group under UNESCAP and ITU from 2002 to 2007, leading regional discussions on ICT adoption. Under the Economic Transformation Program, he led the initiative to position Malaysia as a data centre hub, achieving over 20 percent annual growth in the sector from 2010 to 2015.
He is also a member of the Kelantan State ICT Council, Penang Smart State Steering Committee, and USIM Industry Advisory Panel. Wan Murdani holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla and an MBA in Management. He is a registered Professional Engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia.
