
Raja M Shahadan
Raja Shahadan is an accountant by training and profession. He is a Fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) UK, Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), ASEAN Chartered Professional Accountants and Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA). He holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), UK. He has extensive experience in finance, risk management, and assurance. He is currently a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at the International Centre for Education in Islamic Finance (INCEIF), an institution established by the Central Bank of Malaysia (Bank Negara Malaysia – BNM), where he plays an instrumental role in providing financial stewardship, spearheading the organisation’s financial strategies, and ensuring fiscal responsibility. His role also encompasses fundraising, investment and procurement management.
Concurrently, he is a member of the Government Accounting Standard Advisory Committee under the Accountant General’s Department of Malaysia (Jabatan Akauntan Negara – ANM) which issues the Malaysian Public Sector Accounting Standard (MPSAS). He is also a committee member of ACCA Malaysia Young Members Network. He previously led the internal audit quality assurance of BNM in driving the enhancement of governance, risk, and control practices to ensure the achievement of the organisation’s strategic objectives and key result areas. He is experienced in financial management with expertise in risk surveillance and supervision within financial institutions given his stint in the Finance and Banking Supervision departments of BNM.
